What is a fanlisting?

 

According to the fanlistings.org, it's a place for fans of a particular subject to unite and build an international listing.

This one is dedicated to the character Kuronue from the anime/manga Yu Yu Hakusho.

 

Kuronue

 

A beautiful Youkai like Youko Kurama, he is his former close friend and 'partner-in-crime'; little is ever revealed concerning the true depth of their 'relationship', and as a result, countless speculative fan fics and doujinshis have sprung forth from the crazed world of squealing/daydreaming fangirls [and boys]. ;)

 

It is told that several years prior to the current story of YYH, the two were thieves together, plundering the richest reaches of the demon world. On one unfortunate raid, after having fled the palace in safety, Kuronue looses his much-adored pendant, and goes back for it, only to fall into a trap. He does not survive, and the memories of his death haunt Kurama for years to 

come.

 

Though the two are purported to simply have been "close friends", I think there's ample evidence that they were something a bit more...

Potential Spoiler Ahead ::

 

Though he is not in any way a major character from the show, Kuronue is important to Kurama's characterization, and serves as his personal conflict in the movie, Poltergeist Report. In the movie, he is seemingly confronted and threatened by his old friend, and is forced into battle with him repeatedly. But after careful observation on Kurama's part, it is discovered that the Kuronue standing before him is indeed not his former comrade, but a demon god masquerading as him in order to bring Kurama down. 

 

Yu Yu Hakusho

 

Formerly aired on Cartoon Network and I'm not sure when they'll bring it back, if they will. Politics in action, my friends.

 

Anyway, the show is an anime based on a manga series by Yoshihiro Togashi; the videos, DVDs and manga volumes are relatively simple to find. (I'd try Suncoast)
